Implico highlights the opportunities of digital transformation in the oil and gas domain

The three-day event in Florida will focus on all of the technologies involved in shaping the digital future of companies. As the only software company developing SAP standard solutions for the downstream industry, the Implico Group will be there to advise oil and gas companies on all aspects of their digital journey.


Technology is developing faster than ever before. Every year, new solutions are launched that far outdo previous offerings. The new SAP S/4HANA solutions for secondary distribution and fuels retailing are just one example. Developed by Implico, the solutions for the downstream industry have been available since December 2017 and allow data to be processed 300 times faster than the previous Business Suite variants.


"We have incorporated our decades of experience in the oil and gas industry – especially in the downstream sector – into these solutions," said Torsten Peter, Implico managing partner with responsibility for its SAP business. "This is why SAP's downstream solutions offer significant benefits in support of the digital transformation of oil and gas companies." The SAP SDM and SAP RFNO solutions – in both the S/4HANA variant and the Business Suite – integrate and automate all the processes involved in oil and gas product trading and service station management. "Our goal," said Torsten Peter, "is to fully automate the entire order-to-cash process, once scheduling has been completed, using SAP's downstream solutions. Employees will then only need to intervene manually in the system in exceptional cases or if errors occur. This drastically reduces administration overhead and allows employees to devote more time to their customers – focusing on customer loyalty management, for example."


At SAPPHIRE NOW 2018, experts at the Implico stand will reveal details of the features and benefits to visitors. Potential users will also have an opportunity to learn what customers who are already successfully using the solutions think about them. "We believe many companies will be pleased to discover that they can enjoy the benefits of their digital transformation efforts while they are on their digital journey, and not just at the end of it," said Torsten Peter.
