With their decades of experience, Implico has guided Supergasbras in transitioning from outdated, insular solutions, to a modern, unified IT infrastructure that enhances forecasting, distribution, and process automation nationwide.

Serving over 11 million households and 40,000 commercial clients, Supergasbras manages a fleet of 700 gas trucks and 2,500 additional distribution vehicles. Since adopting SAP SDM, the company has doubled its business volume – initially spurred by the acquisition of competitor Minasgas in the late 1990s – and overcome the limitations of its previous ERP systems, which only covered 50% of today´s processes. The new solution, seamlessly integrated without disrupting operations, now automates the entire logistics chain, from order entry to invoicing, using real-time data from delivery trucks.

Key features include Implico´s Continuous Product Replenishment (CPR) tool, which predicts customer gas needs based on historical data and external factors like weather, and process automation technology, which ensures accurate adjustments for material movements and compliance with Brazil’s complex tax system, including the mandatory Nota Fiscal. This has eliminated manual order processing errors, optimized route planning, and reduced Shared Service Center costs by 10%.

The rollout across 67 sites, completed in just a few months, trained 2,000 users without halting business – a testament to Implico’s expertise. The solution’s cloud accessibility, mobile capabilities, and minimal customization align with Supergasbras’ goals for efficiency and future scalability.

As a trailblazer within SHV Energy, Supergasbras’ success has inspired subsidiaries like Liquigas in Italy to adopt SAP SDM. With ongoing enhancements and robust reporting, the company continues to uncover new efficiencies, solidifying its position as a leader in LPG distribution.
