Implico announces the appointment of Torsten Ammon as Group Chief Product and Technology Officer. With more than 20 years of proven leadership in product and technology, spanning the entire lifecycle from strategic product definition to the delivery of scalable, cloud-native solutions, Torsten joins from SAP, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Engineering for Business Data Cloud Core and Fabric Services.
At SAP, Torsten was closely involved in two major product launches, SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Data Cloud, leading the engineering teams responsible for the cloud-native platform services and data fabric architecture at the heart of SAP’s next-generation data strategy. His experience delivering products at this scale, grounded in clean core principles, brings a new dimension of product and technology leadership to Implico.
He studied business informatics at the Berufsakademie in Stuttgart and worked as an SAP consultant across several industries before moving into a BI architect role. Prior to SAP, he led the global business intelligence unit at a consumer beverage company, managing enterprise-scale, SAP-driven BI programmes across international markets.
In his new role, Torsten will lead Implico’s product and technology strategy, from product vision and roadmap to the delivery of scalable solutions, directing the evolution of the company’s SAP-branded Solution Extension portfolio. His appointment comes as Implico expands beyond its established leadership Oil Gas and Energy, extending its SAP integration depth and domain expertise to a wider range of industries.
