German State Capital of Munich Awards Contract for SAP Release Upgrade Project

Implico Secures Bulk of AWM Tender Work

Implico today announced that it has won the lion's share of the SAP release upgrade project tendered by Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb München (AWM – municipal waste management service). Implico had previously partnered with the City of Munich's municipal waste management service in a successful project that implemented core processes specific to waste disposal from the SAP Waste and Recycling industry solution.

AWM-Munich.jpgSince this SAP R/3 release is no longer current, AWM is now planning an upgrade to the latest SAP ERP 6.02 version. During the tender process, Implico impressed selectors with recent work in core SAP and SAP development, SAP Waste and Recycling, and SAP standard modules, and won the respective tendered work packages. Implico's strong SAP expertise for the disposal industry was a key factor in this decision.

The company also scored in the areas of SAP development and core SAP, since Implico was able to reference long-term experience with complex release upgrades. AWM can now look forward to the essential core work of the project being completed by a single company – a key project management benefit.

Starting on May 3, 2010, the project will conclude in December of the same year.
