Oil & Gas industries benefit from OpenTAS integrated with SAP® applications, providing harmonization of IT landscapes

The Implico Group today announced that its OpenTAS, the universal administration and dispatch system for the oil & gas industry, is now an SAP-endorsed business solution. The tight integration of OpenTAS with SAP solutions will enable customers in the oil & gas industries to conduct entire business processes that improves processes involved in terminal management, such as taking orders, managing terminal operations for orders and corresponding shipments, as well as managing tank stocks in terminals. It is now one of only 22 SAP-endorsed business solutions worldwide. SAP-endorsed business solutions are complementary to SAP software offerings, are developed in accordance with SAP development guidelines, and provide additional choices and flexibility for businesses running SAP software.
With the OpenTAS solution now endorsed by SAP, it demonstrates the high-end integration of the solution with SAP applications and is another milestone in the more than 10 years of collaboration between SAP AG and Implico. The functionalities of OpenTAS, including automation and optimization of service station replenishment and the automation and management of terminals and refineries, ideally complement the scope of services of the SAP for Oil & Gas solutions.
The OpenTAS system is seamlessly integrated with the SAP NetWeaver® Portal and SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure components of the SAP NetWeaver platform. It enables customers in the oil & gas industries to optimize their processes, from order acceptance to invoicing, thus accelerating it considerably. The IT landscape is simplified, which leads to reduced IT and maintenance costs. Furthermore through continuous collaboration with SAP, Implico delivers to customers a high degree of investment and planning security.
”For Implico, we view SAP's endorsement of OpenTAS as an acknowledgement of the quality of our development and standards,” said Michael Martens, Managing Partner, Implico Group. ”The ability of OpenTAS to leverage the business potential of assets provided by solutions from SAP and other vendors will prove highly beneficial to current and future customer engagements in the oil & gas industry. It will deliver significant return on investment for customers.”
