Implico launches comprehensive package of features for logistics management

Additional functionality offered for SAP ECC 6.0 Logistics modules

 

Truck-on-the-road-Implico-Shutterstock-rgb.jpgThe Integrated Logistics Add-On Package (ILAP) offers extended functionality for the SAP ECC 6.0 Logistics modules. Developed by consulting and software company Implico, the logistics package helps companies manage a variety of core processes primarily in the oil and gas industry. It offers functions to ensure efficient dispatching and methods for cyclical replenishment and consumption forecasting. Version 1.0 of the package is available immediately and is already being implemented for the first customer in the US.
 
Functionality included in the logistics package includes IDM (Integrated Dispatch Management), CPR (Continuous Product Replenishment), sales campaigns and integrated petroleum reporting. Some functions can be used only with SAP Oil & Gas Secondary Distribution 6.1 (SAP OGSD).
 

Functionality in detail:

 

IDM

The purpose of this scenario is to provide the dispatcher of planned orders with a graphical tool for selecting orders from a map and assigning a combination of orders, loading depots and truck locations to driver or truck. The combination of loadings and drops represents a trip. IDM calculates driving times and times for preparation, loading and unloading and assists the dispatcher by displaying the trips on a Gantt chart. The integration of ptv tools allows for automatic sequencing of loadings and drops to reduce driving time and/or distance. Dispatchers can use IDM to combine trips in groups to cover a driver shift and release groups for execution.
IDM can also be used on ECC 6.0 systems without IS-OIL or SAP OGSD.
 

CPR

The purpose of this scenario is to provide users with additional and enhanced functionality for the Continuous Product Replenishment process in SAP OGSD. In addition to the standard functionality in SAP OGSD with ILAP CPR the consumption forecast calculation can be based on actual weather data and statistical figures. The initial determination of K factors for consumption can be based on customizable parameters for the location such as number of persons in household, heated area, etc. Individual consumption factors can be updated based on a comparison of planned quantity and actual delivered quantity. Not only can several storage objects be grouped, but one storage object can also trigger the replenishment of all objects in the group.

CPR also enhances the order creation process: in addition to creating new orders, the process can also update existing orders that have not yet been executed. A ‘Fixed Cycle’ calculation is also provided, which can be used to organize deliveries based on fixed time periods, e.g. per week or per month –regardless of actual consumption. CPR functionality also includes performance improvements. Both calculation and processes can be distributed to different application servers for load balancing.
 

Sales Action

The purpose of this scenario is to provide the sales campaign organizers with a tool to manage fixed-period sales promotions involving a pre-defined range of products. The campaign organizer can inform selected customers by mail or email. Once the customer responds to the mail, sales campaign staff can create sales orders from the sales campaign screen.
 

Integrated Petroleum Report

The purpose of this scenario is to provide oil companies in Germany with a reporting functionality that is compliant with German petroleum legislation (i.e. the Mineralöldatengesetz – German Petroleum Data Act) and covers data on crude oil purchasing, refined oil products, petroleum stocks, and sales and exports.
