Students delve into the world of software development

Implico-Fruestarter-2017-TH.jpgToday twelve students from northern Germany paid a visit to software and consulting company Implico. The budding young computer scientists visited various departments to experience first-hand what it means to shape digital change in the oil and gas industry.

The company Frühstarter brings employers and students together on a regular basis, with selected businesses opening their doors to young talent every year. Today it was Implico’s turn, as the international software company gave the students an exclusive insight into its Development department.

The young visitors learned about several interesting aspects of the SAP environment. The developers explained to them how IT systems automate complex processes and how intelligent IT systems are used to plan the automatic supply of fuel to service stations. Another highlight was a behind-the-scenes look at the integrated dispatch management application SAP S/4HANA Integrated Dispatch Management by Implico, in which the development of a user interface with HTML5 and SAPUI5 plays an important role.

In addition to technical topics, students also had the opportunity to establish contacts for any future applications they may wish to submit. “We are delighted to see the students taking such an interest in what we do,” said Katrin Hameister, Personnel Officer at Implico. “With our exciting trainee programmes and the option of completing a work/study degree program, we offer a wide range of entry opportunities for the next generation of developers.”
